Wat Kampuchea Krom is a Buddhist Temple (Buddhism), located at the above address, in the County of Prince William, Virginia. It was built by a group of Cambodian Buddhist living in Washington DC Metropolitan area, under the corporation of the National Association of Khmer Kampuchea Krom USA, Inc. "NAKKKUSA,INC.".
First, the Temple was located at 3617 Old Post Rd, Fairfax, VA
22030 from August 1986 to September 1988. Then it has been relocated to 45579 Clydesdale Ct, Sterling, VA
20164 from September 1988 to April 1996. With the pressure from the residential community and due to a need to expand its base, the Temple was then moved to the present address from April 1996 to the Present.
The Temple bears its name as Wat Kampuchea Krom so to remind our Buddhists of the loss of our beloved land, formerly known as Kampuchea Krom, and now is the South of Vietnam. This land was signed and given to King Bao Dai without the consent of our people by the French protectorate on June 4, 1949.
We will maintain our dearest name for the sake of our lost land forever!!!
